Survivors of Ectopic Pregnancy

Hi - I'm Gayle. Kind of just realized that I joined this community a while back and never made an intro post.

So here it goes...

After unsuccessfully trying to conceive for 14 months, my husband and I decided to see a Reproductive Endocrinologist. We went through one cycle of Clomid 100mg/Ovidrel Injection/Itra-uterine Insemination (IUI). Found out I was pregnant on 6/25, and then on 7/5 & 7/6 I was doubled over in horrible pains. I had NO IDEA what was about to happen.

I'd gone to my RE for a sonogram, even though I was only 5w4d pregnant at the time. There was no sac, no baby.

So I ended up being rushed to the hospital for laparoscopic surgery. I suffered an ectopic pregnancy and ended up with a ruptured left fallopian tube which had to be removed.

Now, I have half the chances of conceiving b/c I only have one tube, and we already know I cannot conceive on my own without the help of fertility treatments.

So, in late August, I was given the thumbs up from my Dr to try again. We did the same thing, Clomid/Ovidrel/IUI and it didn't work. Now, we have gone a different route. I'm now using injectable fertility treatments along with the Ovidrel and IUI. I'm currently in the 2WW.

Just like crustyk said...I'm happy there aren't many members here...but I'm glad we all have each other for support.

Good luck to everyone with your healing and ttc journey...

Hi, it's been a while since I visited this community and just checked out my last post...16 days after it, I conceived again despite only having the one tube! Thankfully, not ectopic but in the right place and so therefore I'm now in my 26th week.

I peeped at the other members journals and see that you too are also pregnant. Congratulations!! Would be good to know when your baby arrives
